Thoughts and prayers are with the individuals and families impacted by the explosion at ADM

Our thoughts and prayers are with the individuals and families of those impacted by the explosion at the ADM Co. east plant.  We wish a very speedy and full recovery to those who were injured.  We thank our first responders who arrived quickly, rendered aid to those in need, and put out the fire. 

It will be important for the appropriate agencies to conduct a thorough, independent investigation into this and prior incidents at the ADM facility to ensure the future safety of all employees.  Thankfully, the explosion did not spread to the surrounding residences.  However, the city of Decatur should confirm that plans are in place to ensure that if industrial incidents occur in the future, they will not result in physical harm and property damage to residents of nearby neighborhoods.
